GDPR
You currently receive communications from us via various media platforms, however new legislation comes into place wef 25th May 2018 which means we need you to opt in to give consent so that we can continue to manage and administer your membership.
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) replaces the Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC and is designed to harmonise the data privacy laws across Europe, this is to protection and empower all EU citizens’ data privacy. This means that there are more stringent rules and regulations that we need to abide by.
Golf Clubs, County and Governing Bodies will process individual personal data in nearly all their activities. This includes data about you and your membership including details about your handicap. We now require consent in order for you to receive communications from the BRS System/Club V1/Howe did I do/ Saddleworth Golf Club and England Golf Union.
The ways in which we intend to communicate with you includes email, SMS text, telephone etc (this list is not exhaustive). The types of communication that will be sent include information on course management information, general information from your sections, newsletters, SGC offers and club notifications, membership information, product new and offers, special events and competition details. If members ask for other members phone numbers it is within the right for the Club Management to decline this request unless you have opted in and given your permission. Members can display their own phone numbers in the clubhouse at their own discretion.
As we require your consent to send you notification on BRS’/Club V1/How did I do, failure to do so will mean that your details on all of these systems will be removed after 25 May 2018. This would potential restrict your access on to these systems and would require manual booking via the Pro Shop. Some personal information will still be required but this will not be used for any other purpose.
